Meet Me

Hello there. My name is Jess and this is my blog.
Family Photo BW
Trying to come up with a name for this blog was hard.  I thought about several different options before a friend suggested that I take a line from one of our new favorite shows, The New Girl, and give it my own twist.

Let's just get this on the table now, I have a serious fear of whales. I know it doesn't make sense and there are probably only a handful (if any) documented cases of a whale causing someones death. It doesn't matter. My worst nightmare is being on a boat and having a whale jump up and crush me. That scene in Free Willy where the whale jumps over the little boy, gives me sweaty palms. Go ahead and laugh. My husband and friends do regularly.

I am your typical Type-A, classic control freak.

I am also a total neat freak.

In December of 2003 I married the love of my life, Daniel Norman. I love him so much and feel very blessed to be his wife.

We were technically engaged for just under 24-hours before we were married.   Our short engagement means we didn't have much time to plan a ceremony and therefore don't have "real" wedding photos.  This breaks my heart every time I think about it.

In September 2007 I gave birth to the most beautiful, fascinating and wonderful little person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, my daughter. It is amazing to watch her grow and learn and soak up the world around her every day.
Halloween 2008 #3
Yes, I know that this photo is almost four years-old.  I bought this chicken costume literally within a day or two of finding out I was pregnant.  I love it so much and this has to be one of my favorite photos of the girlie ever.

My favorite Bible verse is Hebrews 13:2.

My husband is in the Army, which means we move around. A lot. Good thing we both look at life like one big adventure.

I was raised in Pennsylvania but currently reside in North Carolina.

I have lived in a total of 7 states. Less than 15% of the country can say that. I suppose this should give me some sort of a complex. Or at least a discount with U-Haul.

I have a wicked sense of humor.

I can multi-task with the best of them. For instance some of the only time I get to myself (on a good day) is when I take a shower. So usually I take a magazine in the shower with me. I can shampoo, body wash, name it all while reading. It actually isn't nearly as complicated as you would think.

If I won a million dollars I would pack my family up and move to a beautiful little cottage in England.

I love all things Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. One of my favorite memories as a kid was going to his concert with my Dad one Father's Day.

Now you know who I am. Hope you decide to stick around and see how this adventure plays out.
